The Deal ~Review

“Sometimes people sneak up on you and suddenly you don’t know how you ever lived without them.”

She's about to make a deal with the college bad boy...

Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she's carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush's attention, she'll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice...even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cockycaptain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.

...and it's going to be oh so good

All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he's worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he's all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn't take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn't going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.

I've come to a conclusion.
Hockey players are hot. After reading Pucked by Helena Hunting and now The Deal by Elle Kennedy.....I think I want to date a hockey player. HAHA

I really enjoyed this book. It made me smile to see their relationship progress through the book. It was cute, flirty, steamy and fun. Hannah was a riot! She made me laugh out loud on several occasions. I love how much she didn't like Garrett at first. But of course things happen.

The deal that they made was perfect and the absolute best set up for things to go wrong.... or right. I liked how involved the friends were throughout the book. It was refreshing to see the team mates have bigger roles than usual in the plot.

Speaking of friends...... I adored how Hannah and Garrett became friends, it was well integrated change in the way they interacted. I thought it was really well done! I enjoy Elle Kennedy as an author, I like the way she develops plots. I've gotta read more by her.

Definitely recommend this one! It was a fantastic book!

Caraval ~Review

“Every person has the power to change their fate if they are brave enough to fight for what they desire more than anything.”

Remember, it’s only a game…

Scarlett Dragna has never left the tiny island where she and her sister, Tella, live with their powerful, and cruel, father. Now Scarlett’s father has arranged a marriage for her, and Scarlett thinks her dreams of seeing Caraval—the faraway, once-a-year performance where the audience participates in the show—are over.

But this year, Scarlett’s long-dreamt-of invitation finally arrives. With the help of a mysterious sailor, Tella whisks Scarlett away to the show. Only, as soon as they arrive, Tella is kidnapped by Caraval’s mastermind organizer, Legend. It turns out that this season’s Caraval revolves around Tella, and whoever finds her first is the winner.

Scarlett has been told that everything that happens during Caraval is only an elaborate performance. Nevertheless she becomes enmeshed in a game of love, heartbreak, and magic. And whether Caraval is real or not, Scarlett must find Tella before the five nights of the game are over or a dangerous domino effect of consequences will be set off, and her beloved sister will disappear forever.

Welcome, welcome to Caraval…beware of getting swept too far away.

There was a lot of hype going around for this book. A LOT of hype. So I was a little nervous about whether or not I would like it and if it lived up to the hype it was getting. All in all...... it did. I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the characters and the plot. The writing was superb and I need to look up more of Stephanie Garber. The way she effortlessly described the vividness of Caraval is so incising, you cant help but eagerly flip through the pages. I loved this story and look forward to seeing more of Garber's works.

I knew very little when I entered this book and I couldn't have been more pleased with the results. If I'm being honest with myself, I picked up Caraval because of the serious hype surrounding it. Let's admit it, there was a TON of hype, and fortunately, I received Caraval in my February Owlcrate box. The hype, in my opinion was well deserved. I couldn't put this one down. I read the whole book in one evening.

The characters were so easy to picture in my head and I fell in love with them! (No surprise there) Caraval is a place I would love to go to, especially for the dresses! TO DIE FOR! What I really did love about the was Garber handled magic in her book, is that it all comes with a price. I definitely respected that element and thought it brought more to the plot.

If you haven't read Caraval yet, I highly recommend you grab a ticket and line up for Caraval. Still feeling the love from this book!
